2011 Kawasaki KX™100
The gulf between a KX™85 and a full-sized Lites-class motocrosser such as the KX250F is a large one, and rare is the rider who bridges the transition easily. All of which explains the existence of Kawasaki’s KX100 – the ideal stepping stone from minis to the major leagues. With its larger wheels, the KX100 provides adolescent motocross racers and off-road riders with a right-sized motorcycle, one that allows them to focus on riding technique instead of excessive power and heft.
Liquid-Cooled, 99cc, Two-Stroke Engine - Utilizes a separate clutch cover on the engine’s right side for quick servicing without removing the water pump cover
Liquid-Cooled, 99cc, Two-Stroke Engine - Liquid-cooling assures even-running temperatures, consistent power output and greater reliability
Liquid-Cooled, 99cc, Two-Stroke Engine - Bridges between intake and exhaust ports are machine-finished for increased durability
Liquid-Cooled, 99cc, Two-Stroke Engine - Rotor utilizes rare-earth magnets – the unitized piece is small, light and more efficient; low inertial moment improves low-rpm response
Liquid-Cooled, 99cc, Two-Stroke Engine - Connecting rod big-end bearing has a more rigid cage for improved durability
Liquid-Cooled, 99cc, Two-Stroke Engine - Intake port shape and cylinder skirt allow cooling air into the crankcase chamber
Liquid-Cooled, 99cc, Two-Stroke Engine - Primary gear is secured using a lock-nut to help reduce mechanical noise
Liquid-Cooled, 99cc, Two-Stroke Engine - Metafoam gaskets for the generator and water pump covers improve sealing
Kawasaki Integrated Power Valve System (KIPS®) - KIPS system varies exhaust port height for increased horsepower and torque at all rpm
Kawasaki Integrated Power Valve System (KIPS®) - Produces a broad powerband with more low-end torque while retaining excellent top-end power
Kawasaki Integrated Power Valve System (KIPS®) - Breather in KIPS cover improves high-rpm and overrun performance
28mm Keihin Carburetor - Crescent slide carburetor puts the needle closer to the intake ports for optimum throttle response
28mm Keihin Carburetor - Adjustable for various conditions
